1843 leads the fleet of the stylishly rebranded Besserat de Bellefon’s Champagnes

Niles, IL – July 25th, 2019. Champagne Besserat de Bellefon launches its signature “1843” Midnight Cuvée in the United States. Named for the year, 175 years ago, when this revered Champagne house was founded in the small village of Aÿ near Epernay, the 1843 cuvée is produced in limited quantities—just 1843 bottles per vintage—making it the Besserat de Bellefon Champagne with which to celebrate a particularly memorable moment. The 1843 Cuvée leads the fleet of Besserat de Bellefon, which have been stylishly rebranded with modern elegance by owner Godefroy Baijot for a new generation to enjoy.

“Today we celebrate historic evolution for Besserat de Bellefon Champagne: a “BB REVIVAL.” In 2020, after years at the helm, my father Philippe Baijot will retire and I will take the reins to guide our beloved brand toward a modern identity, worthy of the next hundred years.” — Godefroy Baijot

The 1843 Midnight Cuvée’s deep blue bottle evokes timeless style, symbolizing the sky at nightfall when that first star appears. Romantic and incandescent, it is the effortless chic of a navy-blue blazer or cashmere sweater. Pale gold in color with amber reflections and extremely fine bubbles and clarity give way to scents of gentle toasty woodiness, candied citrus, minerality and fresh zest, followed by a pure, taught vibrancy on the palate and a long resonant finish.
