Breathtaking Russian River Valley Estate to Become Sonoma County’s Newest Destination for Visitors to Enjoy Recreational Activities, Luxurious Accommodations, and World-Class Wine

WINDSOR, Calif. (July 16, 2019) – San Francisco Bay Area natives Mark and Elizabeth Hanson and daughter Sarah Hanson Citron are thrilled to announce their plans to open a new winery and hospitality retreat, Bricoleur Vineyards, in Windsor, Sonoma County this fall.  The 40-acre estate features a hospitality barn, pavilion, rose garden and bocce ball courts, several patios, two ponds, an estate villa and a refurbished historic milk barn, all nestled in the countryside of the beautiful Russian River Valley.  Tasting experiences at Bricoleur Vineyards will be curated to each guest’s preference and will range from seated food & wine pairings in the hospitality barn, to picnicking in the pavilion or by one of the estate ponds, to enjoying a glass of wine during a game of bocce.

“When our family sat down to map out our collective vision for Bricoleur Vineyards, building connections and communities was always in the forefront of our thinking,” said CEO and founder Mark Hanson.  “We want to have something for everyone – whether you’re interested in forming a bocce league, taking a cooking class, practicing yoga or simply drinking world-class wine in a beautiful setting, we want to be the first place people think of when they are looking to celebrate life with family and friends.”

Bricoleur Vineyards is the ideal location for intimate gatherings with family and friends, business retreats, or as a home base for wine country touring.  Facilities include the Estate Villa, a luxurious, 9,000-square-foot villa that sleeps 10 and features an infinity pool, cabana, outdoor cooking area, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, an eight-seat movie theater, beautifully manicured grounds, and work-out rooms complete with saunas and steam room.  The Vineyard House is a 2,500-square-foot, four-bedroom country get-away that sleeps eight.  Surrounded by vineyards, the Vineyard House features four spacious bedrooms, fully-equipped chef’s kitchen, wrap-around deck, and media and billiard rooms.  Additionally, the estate is home to heirloom chickens, honeybees, an extensive rose, vegetable and herb garden and olive trees, all of which will provide provisions for the estate’s educational wine and food pairing program.  All other products used on-site are procured locally, supporting the community and celebrating a sense of place.

Building on Bricoleur’s vision of joining with the Sonoma County creative community to establish a unique and welcoming destination, the estate has developed a partnership with local yoga studio Yoga One at Well Sonoma to host weekly yoga classes and wine tastings overlooking the vineyards, along with other destination wellness experiences such as hiking and massage therapy. Additionally, Bricoleur will host creative courses that will include a wine tasting taught by local artists and florists on an ongoing basis. Further programming involving wellness and craftsmanship will be announced in fall 2019.

About Bricoleur Vineyards

Bricoleur Vineyards is a boutique, family-run winery based in Windsor, Sonoma County, that produces limited-production wines primarily from estate-grown, sustainably-farmed grapes.  The breathtaking Russian River Valley estate also serves as a venue for exciting experiences and activities throughout the year where social connections are fostered and communities are built.  Founders Mark and Elizabeth Hanson and Sarah Hanson Citron are strongly committed to giving back to their community, and they plan to incorporate Bricoleur Vineyards in their efforts to support non-profits and charities throughout Sonoma County.  The word Bricoleur (bree-ko-LER) is French and refers to “one who starts building something with no clear plan, adding bits here and there, cobbling together a whole while flying by the seat of their pants.”
