(Portland, OR) Apr. 11, 2019 – The Oregon Winegrowers Association (OWA) today announces its first-ever public wine tasting event, “Crush on Oregon,” to be held Jun. 2, 2019 at Castaway Portland, the upscale event venue in Portland’s Pearl District.

Winemakers representing over 40 wineries in the state will serve wine alongside Oregon favorites from Tillamook Cheese, Moonstruck Chocolate, Olympia Provisions, Oregon Raspberry & Blackberry Commission, Northwest Hazelnut Company and Pear Bureau Northwest. The tasting event will feature entertainment, giveaways, and an option to purchase wine. Doors open at 11:00 AM for VIP guests and 12:00 AM for General Admission. Tickets start at $50.

Guests can expect to taste over 80 local wines, while experiencing the quality and passion Oregon winemakers crush into every drop. Guests will also receive a tasting guide listing all of our participating wineries. The event’s theme, “Crush on Oregon,” is a nod to the process of making wine, as well as the affection and enthusiasm developed as one explores the beauty of Oregon’s wine regions and the unique qualities of its wine.

“This event has been a long time coming. It brings together the enthusiasm Oregonians have for more of their favorite local wines with the eagerness our member growers and winemakers have to share the stories behind their vineyards and wines. We’re excited to welcome hundreds of Oregon wine fans to learn more about how Oregon wines and foods go so well together,” said Tom Danowski, CEO of the Oregon Winegrowers Association.

With focuses on community engagement and giving back, the OWA will be donating a portion of proceeds from the sale of on-site variety wine packs to the Oregon Food Bank. As the chosen charity, the Oregon Food Bank has been invited to attend the event and share how others can help those less fortunate in their own community.
