As of December 8, 2023, the new European Union regulation on wine labeling will come into force, which requires the declaration of nutritional and ingredient information, and directly affects all wineries exporting to Europe. Instead of necessitating a completely new back label design, the EU allows an ‘off-label solution’ in which the necessary information is transmitted to consumers via a QR code – known as an E-Label.
