Darioush Announces the Appointment of Trevor Durling as Vice President of Winemaking and Viticulture

Formerly the General Manager and Senior Winemaker at Beaulieu Vineyard, Durling will lead winemaking at the acclaimed Napa Valley winery

NAPA, CA (January 16, 2025) — Today Darioush, a leading, visionary Cabernet estate in Napa Valley, announced the appointment of Trevor Durling as VP of Winemaking and Viticulture. A skilled and experienced winemaker with more than 20 years of experience throughout Sonoma and Napa Valley, Durling will continue a tradition of winemaking excellence at Darioush.

Durling joins the team from Beaulieu Vineyard, one of the oldest and most respected wineries of the Napa Valley. Under his leadership as the fifth chief winemaker to make Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon in BV’s 125-year history, they achieved numerous accolades, including the coveted No. 2 spot on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 of 2024 with the 2021 vintage, and James Suckling’s Wine of the Year with the 2019 vintage— the first 100-point wine ever for BV. Prior to joining BV, Durling served as Senior Winemaker and General Manager of Provenance Vineyards and Hewitt Vineyard. A Sonoma County native, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in viticulture and enology from UC Davis.

“Trevor was responsible for putting Beaulieu Vineyard back in the spotlight so beautifully created by the renowned Andre Tchelistcheff,” said Darioush President, Chris Avery, “but beyond his fantastic career accomplishments, he is wonderfully engaging human, and will be an exceptional fit for our family-owned winery. He will carry on the tradition of producing consistently beautiful, complex and focused wines– following and strengthening the legacy of long-tenured winemakers at Darioush.”

Durling shares equal enthusiasm: “Darioush has built a reputation of excellence in Napa Valley – from high quality wines, environmental stewardship of its five exceptional estate vineyards throughout Napa Valley, and hospitality that exceeds the imagination. It’s an honor to be a part of the Khaledi Family’s legacy; I’m thrilled for this next chapter.”

Durling succeeds VP of Winemaking Hope Goldie, whose contributions to Darioush over the past 20 years began as Enologist and Assistant Winemaker under Founding Winemaker Steve Devitt, then as Winemaker, and ultimately VP of Winemaking. Michel Rolland will continue in his role as Winemaking Consultant.

“Hope’s impact on Darioush cannot be overstated,” added Proprietor Darioush Khaledi. “She carried on the traditions of our founding Winemaker Steve Devitt, and over the past 20 years has shaped the wine program into what it is today. She will always be a beloved part of our family, and we wish her well in her next endeavors.”
