Tatiana Copeland of Napa Valley’s Bouchaine Vineyards to Serve as the Medallion Ceremony Chair of the 47th Kennedy Center Honors

(Dec. 5, 2024; NAPA, Calif.)—Tatiana Copeland, arts philanthropist, businesswoman and owner of Napa Valley’s Bouchaine Vineyards, is thrilled to serve as the Medallion Ceremony Chair for the 47th Kennedy Center Honors, taking place this weekend in Washington, D.C. This prestigious and star-studded weekend honors those who have dedicated their lives to the arts and have had a direct impact on the rich tapestry of American life and culture. Tatiana Copeland was nominated by President Joe Biden to be a member of the Kennedy Center Board.

The five Honorees receiving the 47th Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements will accept the Kennedy Center recognition at the Medallion Ceremony dinner at the U.S. State Department on Dec. 7. Honorees include acclaimed director and filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola; legendary American rock band the Grateful Dead (Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Bobby Weir, and the late Jerry Garcia, Ron McKernan, and Phil Lesh); blues rock singer-songwriter and guitarist Bonnie Raitt; jazz trumpeter, pianist, and composer Arturo Sandoval; and The Apollo, which will receive a special Honors as an iconic American institution. On Dec. 8, Queen Latifah — who was a 2023 Kennedy Center Honors recipient, and is a Grammy, Emmy and Golden Globe winner, and Academy Award nominated actor and producer — will host the star-studded gala for the first time. The gala will be broadcast on CBS Television Network and streamed on Paramount on Sunday, Dec. 22 (8:30-11 p.m., ET/PT).

The elegant wines of Bouchaine Vineyards will be exclusively served at the Medallion Ceremony dinner, which will be hosted by Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy the 2019 Bouchaine Brut Rosé, 2023 Bouchaine Vin Gris of Pinot Noir, 2023 Bouchaine Alsatian Blend, 2021 Bouchaine Estate Chardonnay and the 2022 Bouchaine Swan Clone Pinot Noir.

Tatiana Copeland and her husband, Gerret Copeland, are long-time vintners and have owned Bouchaine Vineyards for more than 40 years, making it one of the oldest, continuously family-owned properties in Napa Valley’s Carneros AVA. Living in accordance with its motto, “Wine Makes you Happy™,” the team at Bouchaine proudly produces estate wines of extraordinary character and quality.

“I am incredibly thrilled to serve as Medallion Chair this year,” says Copeland. “I’m truly honored to be a part of this weekend’s events, including an invitation to the White House with the Honorees. I also look forward to a great performance at the Kennedy Center. I met Queen Latifah last year at the Honors ceremonies, and I’m looking forward to giving her a big hug this year.”

About Bouchaine Vineyards

Bouchaine was founded by Gerret and Tatiana Copeland and is today one of the leading producers of sustainably farmed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Carneros AVA. The estate is comprised of 104 acres, including a dramatic tasting room designed in the form of a welcoming embrace, complete with a state-of-the-art open kitchen. The vineyards at Bouchaine are greatly influenced by the adjacent San Pablo Bay, where cool breezes and the daily influx of fog allow cool climate varieties to shine. The location’s substantial daily temperature shifts also help develop beautiful acidity in the fruit, resulting in wines with vivid energy and texture. Noted as the first “Fish Friendly Farming” certified vineyard in Napa Valley, the winery is also Napa Green land and winery certified. If one sentence can encapsulate the energy of Bouchaine, it is the winery’s new trademarked slogan, “Wine Makes you Happy™.”
