December 3, 2024 / Atascadero, CA: Presented by Vineyard Team, the 2024 Sustainable Ag Expo has come to a close, leaving attendees enriched with knowledge and connections crucial to the future of sustainable viticulture. This year’s event offered an extensive lineup of 29 seminars, providing 14 hours of in-person and 15 hours of online continuing education.
With an impressive show of 63 sustainable ag exhibitors, participants were able to explore cutting-edge solutions and products. The event also featured three special networking events where attendees enjoyed over 38 gallons of coffee, 205 donuts, tasted through 26 bottles of local wine, and sipped 600 ounces of beer, fostering a dynamic and engaging atmosphere.
This year, attendees heard from esteemed experts from renowned institutions like UC Davis, Cal Poly, and Oregon State University, who shared their insights on topics ranging from vine pruning and disease management to the latest advancements in agricultural technology.Altogether, 35 speakers shed light on advancing sustainable practices within the industry.
Attendee and Exhibitor Paul Crout from Helena Agri-Enterprises highlighted a standout session: “I found Fritz Westover’s keynote and the subsequent grower panel on vineyard pruning to be particularly valuable. I appreciated the actionable tools and techniques shared, which I can immediately recommend to my growers.”
The Sustainable Ag Expo plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between research and practice. By bringing together researchers and growers, the event enables participants to earn continuing education hours while improving their business operations and connecting with peers and agriculture companies. As viticulture research and innovations continually evolve, staying up to date with the latest practices is essential for success. The multi-day seminar and tradeshow equips farmers, ag professionals, and pest control advisors with practical information on resource issues and business trends, empowering them to implement sustainable solutions
effectively.
