November 21, 2024 – Messina Hof Winery is proud to announce seven newly released vintage wines have been added to the brand’s premium collection. With new wines being released only three times throughout the year, these special vintages were revealed at the brand’s annual Winter Wine Premiere Dinner hosted at Messina Hof’s Estate Winery in Bryan, Texas earlier this month, with two wines becoming the very first 2024 vintages to be released. The new vintage wines and links to purchase are as follows:
- 2024 Artist Series Riesling
- This Riesling is part of the brand’s Off Dry Series Collection released earlier this year, offering a soft and silky light-bodied white wine with subtle sweetness. Tantalizing flavors of green apple and lime zest are complemented by lighter flavors of fresh grapefruit and spiced pear. The Artist Series Riesling received gold medals at the 2024 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition and the 2024 GrapeFest People’s Choice Tasting Classic.
- 2024 Private Reserve Sémillon
- This medium-bodied dry Sémillon expresses floral aromas with hints of lime. Flavors of herbs and green fruits strike the palate with a crisp, refreshing finish.
- 2023 Private Reserve Viognier
- This 2023 vintage is unoaked to allow the natural floral and tropical fruit aromatics of the grape to shine through. The medium-bodied white wine offers flavors of pineapple, melon and citrus swirl on the palate for a refreshing finish. The Private Reserve Viognier was named Reserve Class Champion and claimed a gold medal at the 2024 Rodeo Uncorked! Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo International Wine Competition.
- 2022 Artist Series Primitivo
- Messina Hof’s Primitivo is a full-bodied red wine that underwent barrel aging in oak to bring out the rustic cedar aromas with hints of espresso. Jammy dark fruit flavors dance on the palate to complement steak or Italian dishes with thick red sauces.
- 2022 Private Reserve Petite Sirah
- This full-bodied wine presents equally bold aromas of dark tea leaves and smoke to entice the nose. Flavors of wild black cherry and plum combine with hints of baking spices on the palate as a result of oak aging. The striking presentation pairs exceptionally well with strong herbs including black pepper, clove and rosemary.
- 2021 Paulo Blend
- The limited-edition Paulo Blend represents the best of the best lots of this vintage, presenting strong tannins with its dry style and full-bodied blend. This blend offers nostalgic aromas of dried rose and cedar, along with dark fruit flavors of sugar plum and black cherry.
- Blushing Angel
- Messina Hof’s Blushing Angel Rosé is an exceptional dessert wine, presenting a vibrant and rosy complexion and bursts of strawberry flavors. The sweetness of the wine can be a dessert on its own but is enjoyed even more when paired with light cakes or pastries.
