Washington Wine Community Raises Over $64,000 at Wine Cup® Fundraiser

August 29, 2024 (Walla Walla, WA) – The Washington Wine Industry Foundation hosted its annual Wine Cup® golf tournament fundraiser at the picturesque Wine Valley Golf Club in Walla Walla in July. The event witnessed participation from sponsors and teams, culminating in a successful fundraising effort that garnered over $64,000.

Sara Higgins, Executive Director of the Washington Wine Industry Foundation, shared that, “The Wine Cup® Golf Tournament is a key fundraiser for the Foundation. Thanks to generous sponsorships and player participation in on-course games and raffles, nearly 100% of player registrations went to the Foundation’s bottom line! That goes a long way toward enabling the Foundation’s good work in scholarships, industry sabbaticals, and the provision of resources and tools that benefit the industry.”

The Wine Cup® winners were celebrated for their exceptional performances:

  • First Place Overall: “Grip It and Sip It”, the team from Tudor Hills Vineyard: Sean Tudor, Tom Tudor, Kyle Gorham, and Nate Espinoza
  • First Place Mixed Division: Parker, Smith & Feek an IMA Company: NatashaMendonca, Jason Buchanan, Sam Connors, and Lynsee Wiegand
  • Second Place Men’s Division: Washington Trust Bank: Aaron Sparks, Will Mercer, John Douglas, and Jordan Brown

Rich Eucker and Natasha Mendonca each held the title of “Longest Drive” in the Men’s and Women’s category respectively. The team from Vintner’s Logistics was recognized for their perseverance, earning the “Highest Total Score” Award.

Tournament sponsors included Stoel Rives LLP, Ste Michelle Wine Estates, Washington Trust Bank, Vintrace, AgWest Farm Credit, Morgan Stanley, Mountain States Construction Company, and Rabo Agrifinance.
