Mezzacorona Celebrates National Wellness Month with Launch of Low-ABV, Low-Calorie Ventessa Red Blend, Expanding the Winery’s Better for You Offerings

Introducing a Refreshing, Modern Red Wine, Ideal for Mindful Drinkers

New York, NY (August 19, 2024) – Leading Italian wine producer Mezzacorona is thrilled to announce the addition of Ventessa Red Blend to their esteemed portfolio. This wine is modern in style yet reminiscent of historical red wines typical of the Dolomites’ viticulture. Launched in conjunction with the winery’s 120th anniversary and National Wellness Month, this new expression highlights Mezzacorona’s ongoing commitment to quality and tradition, while also providing better-for-you options through authentic vineyard and winemaking methods.

“With the launch of the Ventessa Red Blend, Mezzacorona continues to set the standard for delivering exceptional, quality wines to the market,” said Andrew Meyer, Chief Sales Officer of Prestige Wine Imports, the exclusive importer of Mezzacorona wines to the United States. “We are excited to bring this new addition to the Ventessa family, reflecting our dedication to innovation and commitment to meeting the evolving preferences of wine consumers,” Meyer added.

Ventessa wines use handpicked grapes to produce naturally low-alcohol and low-calorie wines. Crafted with traditional winemaking methods and without artificial de-alcoholization, Ventessa wines offer a pure and authentic tasting experience. Ventessa wines are gluten-free, with no added sugar or flavor additives, and contain only 90 calories and 9% ABV per serving.

Ventessa Red Blend is made from Schiava and Teroldego grapes, both native to Italy, harvested in early September from select Trentino region vineyards known for their lively aromas. The Schiava grapes are fermented at a low temperature to maintain their delicate structure, while the Teroldego grapes undergo “cold maceration” to enhance their aroma and reduce tannins. This results in a deep ruby red wine with fragrant fruitiness and a soft, delicate palate.

The introduction of Ventessa Red Blend represents Mezzacorona’s enduring legacy and forward-thinking vision while honoring its rich traditions. Ventessa Red Blend joins the Ventessa Pinot Grigio and the Ventessa Pinot Grigio Rosé to round out Mezzacorona’s better-for-you offerings. The newest addition to the Ventessa portfolio is a testament to Mezzacorona’s dedication to crafting distinctive and high-quality wines.

Ventessa Red Blend has an SRP of $11.99 and will be available for purchase nationwide this Fall.
