Napa Valley’s 119-Year-Old Ballentine Vineyards Introduces Jack Volz, New National Sales Director

Jack Volz

ST. HELENA, CALIF. (August 7, 2024) – Ballentine Vineyards, fourth-generation Napa Valley grape growers and vintners since 1905, has named Jack Volz, DipWSET, as its new National Sales Director. The position supports the wholesale distribution of Ballentine Vineyards’ diverse portfolio of estate-grown wines, which includes common and uncommon varietals.

As National Sales Director, Volz is responsible for overseeing Ballentine Vineyards’ wholesale domestic and international distribution partners and relationships. Volz joins other members of the Ballentine Vineyards team, including fourth-generation vintner Frank Ballentine, longtime winemaker and general manager Bruce Devlin, and direct to consumer director, Jackie Deveny.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jack to our winery family,” said Frank Ballentine, owner of Ballentine Vineyards. “Jack’s passion for the wine industry, coupled with his outstanding track record representing esteemed wines from multi-generational families in Napa Valley and beyond, will be invaluable assets for our estate-grown, family-owned wine brand.”

Volz joins Ballentine Vineyards with more than a decade of experience in fine wine sales and marketing for both domestic and imported brands. Most recently, Jack served as the Midwestern Sales Manager for Round Pond Estate in St. Paul, Minn. Prior to that, his career in the wine industry includes similar roles with Appellation Wine Company, as well as 2Twenty Imports in Phoenix, Ariz.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Volz is a collegiate basketball official with over 20 years of experience and a former board member of the ALS Association of Arizona. He grew up in Denver, Colo. and Tucson, Ariz., but currently splits his time between St. Paul, Minn. and Phoenix, Ariz. with his wife Sara.

“Ballentine Vineyards is boldly original, from the grape varietals to the quality and price ratio of their wines,” said Volz. “The family’s legacy is a rarity today, and I believe it still resonates with buyers because of their commitment to producing quality estate wines from Napa Valley without pretense, for those seeking an honest, authentic wine country experience that is true to its heritage and delivers exceptional value. With wines priced between $35 to $200 per bottle, Ballentine Vineyards over-delivers on quality, which is appreciated by wine enthusiasts and collectors, as well as those who are beginning their journey with Napa Valley wines. I’m excited to represent and share Ballentine Vineyards with the entire country.”
