The Spain Tent Will Showcase Food & Wine from Some of Spain’s Premier Producers and Regions

June 13th – ASPEN, CO – Foods and Wines from Spain and #alimentosdespaña announce their return to the FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen, hosting a tent for dozens of Spain’s food and wine producers during the Grand Tasting – the only country or region with a dedicated tent.

Considered the nation’s premier culinary festival, the FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen returns to the mountains of Colorado for its 41st year with three days of unparalleled experiences on June 14-16, 2024, featuring cooking demonstrations and wine seminars with an incredible lineup of chefs and experts. The centerpiece of the weekend event is its Grand Tasting Pavilion, featuring over 150 winemakers, distillers, and culinary offerings, with the Spain tent at its center.

From June 14-16, the iconic Spain tent will return to the center of the Grand Tasting in Wagner Park, where inside festival attendees will have the chance to taste and sample dozens of different Spanish food and wine, including:

  • Jamón Ibérico, Jamón Serrano, Marcona almonds, anchovies, a variety of artisanal cheeses from Spain, and others delicious food products presented by Catalán Gourmet, Despaña Brand Foods, Forever Cheese, and Monte Nevado
  • Spanish wines from Campo Viejo, CIV USA – J. García Carrión, Familia Torres, Grupo Bodegas Olarra, Grupo Marqués del Atrio, Marqués de Cáceres, Marqués de Riscal | Cardenal Mendoza, Parés Baltà, Torres Brandy, and Trinchero Family Estates
  • A selection of tapas from Barcelona Wine Bar, including Arroz Caldoso and Pulpo a la Gallega
  • A special Spanish Vermouth bar featuring Casals, Tximista, and González Byass
  • Tables dedicated to D.O. Cava and Consorcio Jamón Serrano

Barcelona Wine Bar has been selected as Foods and Wines from Spain’s catering partner for the event and will be serving a variety of Spanish dishes and tapas within the Spain tent, just in time for World Tapas Day on Thursday, June 20. Founded in 1996, Barcelona Wine Bar is an award-winning Spanish tapas restaurant group and has 22 restaurants in 11 states. As a Certified Restaurant from Spain, Barcelona Wine Bar participates in Foods and Wines from Spain’s vigorous certification program, which recognizes and supports restaurant initiatives around the globe focused on authentic cuisine and produce from Spain that guarantee the quality standards of these establishments.

In addition to the Grand Tasting, Aspen ticket holders are encouraged to learn more about Spain’s incredible wines on Friday, June 14 from 3-4pm during the “Sustainable Spain” seminar presented by Miles White & Femi Oyediran, co-owners and sommeliers at Charleston, SC based Graft Wine Shop.

“Foods and Wines from Spain is thrilled to return to the FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen, as we see it as one of the most important and influential events for promoting and celebrating Spain’s incredible bounty of food and wine,” says Carlos Jiménez Aguirre, Senior Trade Commissioner of Spain. “We look forward to welcoming attending media, trade, and consumers into the Spain tent and showcasing the breadth and depth of Spanish gastronomy during the three-day long festival.”
