April 10th – HEALDSBURG, Calif. – This Spring, the family behind 32 Winds Wines, including Ed and his daughter Mia Mascarin, alongside the celebrated winemaker Matt Taylor, proudly introduces the world to Mascarin Wines. A testament to the wines of Sonoma County, this collection emerges from a blend of old-world style winemaking and dedicated farming. The reveal, set for an exclusive event on Saturday, May 4th, and a public event on May 5th, promises attendees an immersive journey into the heart of winemaking, hosted at the scenic garden setting of 32 Winds. The event on May 4th also includes a dinner at the enchanting Dalya Estate in Sebastopol, CA, one of the sites of the sourced fruit for the Mascarin Chardonnay.
This year’s introduction of Mascarin Wines is a reflective moment for the wine industry, mirroring the past year’s promising harvest that Sonoma County winegrowers, like 32 Winds, have hailed as a beacon of balance and excellence. “As we stand on the cusp of this exciting new chapter, the Mascarin Wines symbolize not only our commitment to careful craftsmanship but also the enduring spirit of intentional winemaking that defines our region,” said Mia Mascarin-Oven, President of 32 Winds.
The May 4th event promises an immersive experience at the natural gardens at 32 Winds, next to the Angelo vineyard. Winemaker Matt Taylor, garnering attention in the industry for his beautifully crafted wines and deep knowledge of viticulture, will guide guests through his winemaking philosophy and techniques. Participants will dive deep into the ethos of Mascarin Wines, exploring the sustainable and pioneering practices that are at the core of these exceptional vintages. The day concludes with an intimate dinner at the Dalya Estate, where the wines will be paired with masterfully crafted dishes prepared by Chef Stéphane Saint Louis, amidst the estate’s natural grandeur.
Three wines will be introduced under the Mascarin label: A single vineyard Chardonnay, from the tiny but meticulously farmed Dalya Estate, a single vineyard Pinot Noir fermented 100% whole cluster, and a Red Field Blend of co-fermented Rhone and Loire varietals from the Mascarin’s own “Angelo” vineyard near Healdsburg, named for Ed’s grandfather.
Reflecting on the past harvest and looking towards the future, 32 Winds and Mascarin Wines embrace the opportunity to bring balance and innovation to the forefront. “The unveiling of Mascarin Wines is a moment of pride and anticipation,” added Ed Mascarin, Proprietor. “I am happy to be honoring my family’s heritage of grape growing and winemaking in California that goes back to 1904.”

About 32 Winds & Mascarin Wines
32 Winds, nestled in the heart of Sonoma County since 2012, is a small family-owned wine-making operation, dedicated to crafting wine with a sense of intention, and is focused on collaborating with growers which provides the basis for making wines with tension and depth. The Mascarin brand furthers the 32 Winds philosophy and focuses on vineyard selections where Matt Taylor’s viticulture decisions are paired with a deep respect for a site where his winemaking serves to amplify each site’s unique voice.
About Matt Taylor
Matt Taylor is a Sonoma County native and grew up with the influence and inspiration of family friend Chris Bilbro, Founder of Marietta Cellars. Matt earned a degree in Enology and Viticulture at Fresno State before setting out to work and learn at wineries in France, Spain, Argentina, and New Zealand. Matt returned to Sonoma County, bringing with him the knowledge he had gained in his sabbaticals abroad, and began applying it as a winemaker for great producers such as Reuling and Araujo Estate. His style is distinct – balanced wines with tension, driven by a deep respect for the terroir. Matt currently makes wines at Ink Grade and at 32 Winds, as well as his brand Matt Taylor Wines.
