Banfi Partners with 1% for the Planet, Committing 1% of Total U.S. Natura Wine Sales to Environment

Leading Imported Organic Brand, Natura, pledges support towards regenerative organic agriculture

NEW YORK, NY (March 12, 2024) — Banfi, producer and importer of fine wines, proudly announces Natura’s partnership with globally recognized environmental organization 1% For The Planet. By joining the network, Banfi is committing 1% of total U.S. Natura sales to the environment.

As a member of 1% for the Planet, Natura is partnering with Rodale Institute to help increase regenerative organic acreage throughout the U.S. The  501(c)(3) nonprofit’s mission is to advance groundbreaking research and best-in-class education that enables farms and farmers to transition to regenerative organic agricultural practices, thereby improving the health of the world’s soil and securing the global food supply.

“Rodale Institute’s work is important across all industries and we are proud of the alignment for Natura. Research and education are core pillars of Banfi,” explains Banfi CEO, Cristina Mariani-May.  “In Italy, the Banfi Foundation welcomes industry professionals every year to Sanguis Jovis, a research center dedicated to Sangiovese. Commitment to territory has always been an important part of the equation, but regenerative agriculture furthers the conversation to emphasize how we replenish and nurture the land.”

“Support from responsible corporate stewards like Banfi and Natura is critical to advancing the adoption of regenerative organic agricultural practices and improving the health of the environment,” said Rodale Institute CEO Jeff Tkach. “This funding will allow the Institute to make further investments in regionally relevant scientific research and education that improves the conditions for farmers around the world.”

There is also alignment with producer Emiliana Organic Vineyards, a worldwide leader in organic agriculture, certified B corp, and the first Chilean company to achieve regenerative organic certification. Natura’s 1% partnership amplifies the brand’s unwavering commitment to the environment.

1% for the Planet CEO, Kate Williams expresses her support for the partnership, “We believe environmental organizations play a critical role in solving the challenges facing our planet, and our core work is to grow the corporate support that enables these Environmental Partners to empower greater change.”
