Fifth González Byass Winery Obtains Sustainability Certification

February 12th – As well as renewing its accreditation for González Byass Jerez, Beronia Rioja, Vilarnau and Viñas del Vero, González Byass has completed the demanding approval process to certify Beronia Rueda with the “Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection” (SWfCP) charter, created by the Federación Española del Vino (FEV), to recognise wineries committed to sustainability.

To obtain this rigorous certification, González Byass has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to the environment through measures such as waste management, controlled energy and water consumption, and renewable energy. González Byass’ pledge on social responsibility, including internal training and career plans, and welcoming vulnerable and underrepresented groups into the workplace, was also recognised by the awarding body.

SWfCP certification is an important step in González Byass’ ambitious “People + Planet” plan, centred on taking care of people and the planet.

As the certificate itself is revised every two years, it pushes us to continually improve, knowing that every step counts.”

González Byass is a family winery founded in Jerez in 1835 and dedicated to making wines and spirits. Rounding off González Byass’ product range are Vermouth La Copa, Chinchón de la Alcoholera anis, fruit liqueurs Granpecher and Granpomier and a collection of high-end distillates that includes Nomad Outland Whisky and The London Nº1 and Mom gins. The company is also the exclusive distributor on the Iberian Peninsula for Deutz champagne; exclusive Whyte & Mackay Single Malt Whiskies The Dalmore and Jura, and Botran aged rums.
