2023, August 17 – On Wednesday, August 16, the Livermore Valley Wine Community hosted their annual Blessing of the Grapes at Las Positas Vineyards in Livermore. The “Blessing of the Grapes” has been practiced for centuries in wine producing countries around the world and by many religions.
Josh Jones, Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Livermore; Father Kwame from St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church; and Rabbi Laurence Elis Milder, Ph.D. from Congregation Beth Emek all participate in the blessing.
The wineries in Livermore Valley anticipate that harvest will begin in 2-3 weeks.
