Bodio Lomnago (VA), Italy – April 13, 2023 – Crealis S.p.A., global leader in capping and overcapping solutions for wines and spirits, has successfully raised incremental debt facilities from a pool of leading banks and credit funds. The new finance will provide the company with greater financial flexibility to support growth and pursue its strategic initiatives, including the recent acquisition (through Supercap S.r.l.) of 100% of the share capital of the three Portuguese companies named (i) Woodcap Industria de Capsulas de Madeira, (ii) Manuel Firinho & Filhos and (iii) Jesus Couto & Pereira, all based in Santa Maria de Feira (Porto), and future M&A in pipeline.
The incremental facilities were significantly oversubscribed, demonstrating strong appetite and support from lenders despite the current market environment.
The three recent acquisitions will create a new industrial hub for Crealis in Portugal and expand the company’s product offering by notably adding natural cork products to its line. By providing the most comprehensive set of products to the spirits and condiments bottling industry, Crealis will further cement its position in the BarTop segment, whilst continuing to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety for its clients’ products.
BNP Paribas, Unicredit and Crédit Agricole CIB acted as global coordinators and bookrunners for the transaction, with Houlihan Lokey acting as exclusive financing advisor to Crealis S.p.A. ADVANT Nctm advised the borrower, while Clifford Chance assisted the lending pool.
