Miami, FL, April 18, 2023 – Beginning with the 2022 vintage, Gaia and Ameri wines from Domaine Bousquet, Argentina’s largest producer and exporter of certified organic wines, are certified biodynamic through Demeter. Demeter guidelines apply equally to viticulture and vinification. Domaine Bousquet in the Uco Valley’s high-altitude Gualtallery zone has been farmed organically from the outset, starting in 1997.
Speaking about Demeter certification, Domaine Bousquet co-owner and CEO Anne Bousquet noted: “Going to this next earth-friendly level for our mid- and top-tier wines was, no pun intended, a natural, organic, common-sense decision. The time had come to go through the arduous process of Demeter certification. It’s my hope that Domaine Bousquet’s newly certified and competitively priced biodynamic offerings will expand category awareness and open doors.”
Gaia White Blend, and Rosé (SRP $18 apiece), plus Gaia Red Blend and the mono-varietal Gaia Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec (SRPs $20), all in national distribution, have recently been joined by more limited circulation semi-carbonic maceration Gaia Malbec Nouveau.
The flagship Ameri range, named for Domaine Bousquet co-owner Labid al Ameri, is made in the best vintages only. Ameri Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Malbec-dominant Red Blend, SRP $37 apiece, are available in major metropolitan markets nationwide.
Biodynamic certification is the latest in a series of developments at Domaine Bousquet. In June 2022, the estate became the first wine producer outside the United States to earn Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC)™ status, governing among other things soil health, land management, animal welfare, and farmer and worker fairness. Months later, Domaine Bousquet became a member of the B Corp Certified movement, entailing rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency, and participation in policies, tools, and programs aimed at shifting company behavior, culture, and structure, working toward an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy.

Demeter
Demeter is the global powerhouse in the world of biodynamic farm product certification. Not limited to grapes or wine, Demeter works with farmers in 65 countries. Under its not-for-profit umbrella, the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International (BFDI, http://www.demeter.net/), Demeter certifies products, not the producer, so a winery could be making both biodynamic and organic wine in its fields and facilities. Demeter guidelines cover both viticulture and vinification.
Domaine Bousquet
Domaine Bousquet, owned and run by Anne Bousquet and Labid al Ameri, partners in life and in wine, has made a name for itself in the organic category, starting with the 2005 release of the winery’s first vintage. The 672-acre estate in the high-altitude Gualtallary sub-zone of Tupungato in Mendoza’s Uco Valley, is Argentina’s largest producer and exporter of certified organic wines. True to the Bousquet family’s European heritage, its wines are crafted with a French winemaking sensibility.
