Best-selling Oliver Real Fruit Moscatos Now Available in Blueberry, Cherry, Lemon, and Melon Mint
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (March 1, 2023) — Today, national sweet wine player Oliver Winery is releasing Melon Mint Moscato nationwide with select major retailers. This fresh innovation to the wine market is inspired by the simplicity of classic agua fresca combined with the complexity of a traditional mojito. Oliver’s refreshingly real Melon Mint Moscato is the latest addition to its award-winning Real Fruit Moscatos collection, which includes Cherry Moscato, Blueberry Moscato, Lemon Moscato – the #1 lemon-flavored wine in the U.S. – and the original Moscato.
Oliver Winery, now the 28th largest winery in the U.S., has been leading the way in sweet wine expertise for 50 years. The Bloomington-based operation is adding to its innovative profile with this refreshing and light variety, which features a 6.8% ABV and 110 calories per glass, making for an easy-sipping wine that appeals to a wide range of palates. Delicious over ice or served extra-chilled.
“There’s a general misunderstanding about our own palates,” said Bill Oliver, Founding Family Member and Advisor. “While the majority of people tend to say they prefer ‘dry,’ research shows that more than half of Americans love the taste of sweet wines. So, it’s exciting to continue evolving the sweet wine category to be low-ABV and lower calorie while using real fruit juices, extracts, and natural flavors.”
Oliver’s latest release is on-trend and cocktail-inspired, bringing together a unique blend of Muscat Canelli and Muscat Alexander from the West Coast with real watermelon, cucumber and mint essences. Watermelon is a top-10 beverage flavor, well known and loved by consumers, while interest in floral and herbal flavors doubled in the last year. This wine brings both trends to life, with the crisp melon and complex layers of mojito. It also is the perfect answer for those wanting a ready-to-drink cocktail. Research indicates the RTD category has a very long runway for growth, expected to double in size by 2025. And for the first time, spirits supplier revenues have surpassed that of beer.
“As a top seller in the sweet wine market, we continue to innovate and produce high-quality, approachable, and fruit-forward wines that appeal to audiences across the country,” said Rob Warren, Director of Winemaking. “We infused this lush Moscato with real watermelon extract and botanical essences to create a refreshing, anytime wine. Melon Mint Moscato is a ready-to-share, batch-cocktail right from the bottle – easy drinking and refreshing year round.”
Melon Mint Moscato is the first bottle to be released with Oliver’s new packaging inspired by the collection’s refreshingly real fruit and the winery’s ties to hot air balloons. The sky’s the limit at Oliver so when it comes to making wine more interesting, more refreshing, and more than what’s expected, “Why not try it?” said Bill Oliver, a founding family member and an avid aviator, “The possibilities are endless.” The new packaging for Oliver’s entire portfolio will be released later this year.
Retailing at $12 a bottle, Melon Mint Moscato is available in stores across the U.S. It is also available for purchase in the Oliver Winery tasting room and online at oliverwinery.com.
