Yamhill-Carlton AVA Hosts First Annual Wine Harvest Dinner Benefitting Local Food Pantry

Winemaker celebration with more than twenty producers

Carlton, Oregon (October 6, 2022) — The Yamhill-Carlton AVA is introducing a new annual event to benefit the local community food pantry. The first annual Harvest Dinner will be held at Abbey Road Farm on November 5th, 2022 and will benefit the Y-C Storehouse. The Harvest Dinner will start with a standing wine tasting and passed appetizers, followed by a seasonal dinner paired with library wines.

Participating wineries include Anne Amie Vineyards, EIEIO, Ken Wright Cellars, and Soter Vineyards, among many others (the full list of participating wineries is below).

Tickets are $200 per person, ad available now on the Yamhill-Carlton AVA website. Guests will rub elbows with local winemakers and toast the end of the harvest with local Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and more.

The harvest menu is a collaboration between Yamhill-Carlton winemakers and the chefs at Devil’s Food Catering in Portland. The hors d’oeuvres will include duck rillettes with arugula and cranberry gastrique on warm blinis, and pear pizzettes with Gorgonzola, Fontina, and white balsamic reduction. The seated dinner will start with a pickled beet salad with grapefruit and fennel, followed by hoisin-glazed beef short ribs with mushroom demi-glace and crispy parsnips, and vodka cured Pacific Northwest Chinook salmon filets with lemon cream and an herb salad. The full menu (included below) is designed to pair with library wines from participating producers.

The Y-C Storehouse is a nonprofit, fully volunteer-run organization working to provide food for individuals and families in need throughout the valley. They also provide warm blankets and sleeping bags, and supply necessary personal items, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, and shampoo. The funds from the first annual Yamhill-Carlton Harvest Dinner will help the Y-C Storehouse buy food for the coming winter, and provide meaningful support so that needy families can enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.

Abbey Road Farm is located at 10280 NE Oak Springs Farm Road, Carlton, OR 97111 and ample parking is available onsite.
