Guinigi Wines Announces Drink Pink: Rooted Against Breast Cancer Program Ahead of Mother’s Day

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to Receive Portion of Proceeds from Each Bottle Sold of Guinigi Prosecco Rosé

SONOMA, Calif. (April 26, 2022) — 3 Badge Beverage Corporation, the boutique wine and spirits négociant behind the growing Guinigi Italian wine label, today announced its Drink Pink: Rooted Against Breast Cancer program ahead of Mother’s Day. To join the fight against this disease, a portion of the proceeds from each bottle sold of Guinigi Prosecco Rosé (SRP: $17) will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to fund breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.

The program, which runs April 1 – June 30, 2022, invites participants to “Drink Pink” Mother’s Day (May 8) or any special occasion to help support the cause. Drinkers can share their support on social media by tagging @guinigiwines and using #rootedagainstbreastcancer, #drinkpink and #guinigiwines.

“We know how many mothers, sisters, and daughters are affected by breast cancer,” said August Sebastiani, president and founder of 3 Badge Beverage Corporation. “Through Guinigi, we are donating to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to help support breast cancer awareness, education and research, which honors our family heritage while paving the way for a better future.”

With ancestors on both sides of the Sebastiani family from Northern Italy, the Drink Pink: Rooted Against Breast Cancer program is influenced by August’s strong connection to the region. Much of Sebastiani’s family still resides near the walled city of Lucca, home to the historic Guinigi Tower. This iconic landmark is known for its oak trees, which sit at the very top of the tower. The inspiration behind the program comes from the belief that people directly and indirectly affected by breast cancer are strong and beautiful, just like the symbolic oak trees.

Bright and delicate, the Guinigi Prosecco Rosé is driven by fruit with notes of apple, white peach, citrus and wild strawberries balanced against floral notes of peach blossoms. The mouthfeel is refreshing with a high level of acidity cleansing the palate between each new sip. Featuring a blend of glera grapes sourced from Treviso and pinot noir grapes sourced from Friuli Venezia Guilia, Italy, the rosé pairs perfectly with lighter dishes such as a caprese salad, creamy vegetable risotto, fresh seafood or sushi. Two recipes featuring the Guinigi Prosecco Rosé are below.

Il Roseto

  • Prosecco Rosé D.O.C.
  • 2 Fresh Strawberries
  • 2 Lemon Slices
  • Fresh Mint Leaves

Add one strawberry and one lemon slice to the bottom of a glass. Muddle to release juices. Line glass with lemon wheels, strawberry slices and mint leaves. Fill glass with ice. Top with Prosecco Rosé. Add a sprig of mint to garnish.

Rosé Limonata Frizzante

  • Prosecco Rosé D.O.C.
  • 2.5 oz Raspberry Lemonade
  • .5 oz Lavender Simple Syrup
  • 1 Egg White
  • Dried Lavender Buds
  • Lemon Wheel
  • Fresh Raspberries

Add raspberry lemonade, lavender syrup and egg white to a cocktail shaker half full of ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain with a Hawthorne strainer into a coupe glass and top with Prosecco Rosé. Garnish with a lemon wheel, fresh raspberry, and dried lavender buds.
