Korean-American Owned CHO Wines Breaks into Canadian Market and Announces Partnership with Gibson Family Group

November 19th – Toronto Korean-American owned Cho Wines partners with Gibson Family Group (GFG) to enter the Canadian market. Gibson Family Group is a premium wine agency that introduces small, family owned and operated wineries around the world into Ontario, Canada.

Cho Wines is the first Korean-American owned and operated winery in Oregon, making a statement on the world wine stage. Owners and founders, Dave and Lois Cho launched their label in May 2021 and craft elegant yet inviting wines from higher elevation sites in Willamette Valley, Oregon. Dave studied enology and viticulture at Oregon State University and the two spent their formative years from childhood to college in Vancouver, Canada and are excited about bringing their wines to Ontario

It means a lot that Lesle [Gibson] reached out to us to be the first Oregon producer in their exclusive portfolio. Having that Canadian connection made it a no-brainer,” says Lois Cho. The Cho’s recently purchased 77.24 acres of farmland in Oregon to break ground on Cho Vineyards. The property is located on the west flank of Chehalem Mountains below Bald Peak, just 25 miles from Portland and 12 miles from Dundee and plan to plant their first vines and open a tasting room by 2023. The name CHO symbolizes the celebration of our commonality. All living matter predominantly consists of the most basic elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen (CHO). ‘The building blocks of the food and drink we share at our table, the people we share it with, remind us that we are ALL connected here on earth.’

We are thrilled to welcome the Cho’s to the GFG wine family”, says Lesle Gibson “ The dynamic duo are the perfect fit – from the talent behind the wine to the expression in the glass we knew that Cho Wines had a home at GFG.”

Their wines are praised by wine critics and are available in very limited quantities for restaurants and personal collections.
