The newest addition to Healdsburg, Montagne Russe Winery, has recently opened its doors to its brand new tasting room, located in one of the hottest new wine destinations in Sonoma County – Bacchus Landing.
July 23rd – Bacchus Landing, the brainchild of siblings Monica and Francisco Lopez, is situated just three quarters of a mile from the Healdsburg Plaza. The location will be home to eight different wineries spread throughout five separate tasting suites and patio spaces. Montagne Russe joins, Aldina, 13th & Third, Dot Wines, and AldenAllie as current residents.
For Kevin Bersofsky, owner and winemaker, offering a brick and mortar presence is the next phase for his growing winery. “With wine festivals and event outreach stunted by the effects of Covid-19, it only solidified our decision to open Montagne Russe’s first tasting space.”
To run this new venture, Montagne Russe has brought on its first full-time employee, Whitney Heleker. Having worked with Montagne Russe part-time for the last two and half years, she has now taken on the position of Tasting Room & Wine Club Manager.
After exploring different areas within the wine industry over the last seven years, Whitney has found her passion and ambition to be in front of people, organizing and implementing memorable experiences around wine.
“I love working for a winery that I am so proud to represent, and it’s a job that continuously pushes me to grow both professionally and personally.”
Montagne Russe offers beautifully crafted, award-winning Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah – sourced from family-owned, cool-climate vineyards throughout California, and primarily the Sonoma Coast AVA. They produce about 1500 cases per year.
