BitWine Introduces 1,000 Collectible NFTS Inspired By Real Wine

Team composed of a sommelier, a pixel artist, and an early leader in the crypto art space launch ambitious series featuring collectible NFTs inspired by some of the world’s most sought after wines.

BitWine #1 sold for 16 Ethereum ($34,000 USD).

The average BitWine sells for .07 ETH (approx. $151 USD).

April 13th – TORONTO, ONBitWine (bitwine.org) has launched a series of 1,000 non-fungible tokens (NFTS) that combine world-renowned pixel art with a meticulously-researched collection of wines drawing inspiration from around the world –  from off-the-shelf favorites to rare ‘unicorn’ wines.

First released on April 8, 2021, and available now on OpenSea (opensea.io/collection/bit-wine), the popular NFT trading marketplace, BitWine is released in ongoing ‘drops’ of 50 wines at a time. Each BitWine contains properties inspired by the wine it represents, such as ‘Rarity’ (ranging from ‘Common’ to ‘Legendary’), country and region, year, and grape varietals.

BitWine was created through a partnership comprised of:

Evan Keast: a Vancouver-based digital marketing leader that was part of the original CryptoKitties team, taking them to museums, IP partnerships, and real world auctions.  Evan also led marketing for Dapper Wallet, and provided works on Flow and NBA Top Shot.

Stephen Osborne: a Toronto-based illustrator and graphic designer, with nearly a decade of experience as a freelancer and project manager. Pixel art is his passion and medium of choice when creating cyberpunk cityscapes under the moniker NEODOTCITY.

Lauren Vaile: a Toronto-based sommelier, wine industry professional, and a BFA graduate from the Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCADU). Lauren has previously made (real) wine with Rosewood in Canada’s Niagara Region.
