Sonoma Collection Announces New Pét-Nat from Hountalas Farm

SONOMA, CA (March 19, 2021) — The family behind La Prenda Vineyards and Sonoma Collection wines is happy to announce they will be releasing a new pétillant-naturel style sparkling wine. The wine is sourced from the Hi Vista Vineyard that is owned by long time grower partners Dan and Mary Hountalas. Pét-nat is an abbreviation for “pétillant naturel”—a French term that roughly translates to “naturally sparkling.”

This dry, low alcohol wine is made with Chardonnay from the Hi Vista Vineyard and Pinot Noir from La Prenda’s Vineburg Ranch. The new Pét-nat is a celebration of the 2020 vintage, all about joy and freshness. Perfect for beach days and poolside sipping it is available now.

Hi Vista Vineyard is owned by Dan and Mary Hountalas, the former proprietors of the iconic Cliff House restaurant. Dan and Mary have been grower partners of La Prenda Vineyards since 1999 and Ned Hill, owner of La Prenda Vineyards, believes relationships like the one with Dan and Mary are integral to the unique identity of Sonoma Valley Wines. “Knowing the land well and farming it consistently for over 20 years gives us the control we want to produce grapes that require little intervention in the winery.”

Sonoma Collection is a family-owned venture featuring sustainably farmed wines honoring Sonoma Valley grape farmers. Sonoma Collection captured a top ten spot in Wine Business Monthly’s annual Hot Brands in 2015. Other labels include Fifth Hill, La Prenda, Happy Wife, Quarantine Wife and 95476. La Prenda Vineyards Management has been in business for 13 years and farms over 30 properties in the Sonoma Valley, Carneros, Sonoma Mountain and Bennett Valley appellations that are certified Fish Friendly Farming. They provide quality farming while increasingly incorporating mechanization in a changing farming environment. For more information visit https://www.laprendavineyards.com/.
