Washington Wine’s “State Night” Goes Statewide in Support of Local Wineries & Restaurants

State Night is a call for all Washingtonians to have a “night in” to support their state

SEATTLE (November 30, 2020)—December 4-6, the Washington State Wine Commission will host a third State Night: an epic “night in” encouraging all Washingtonians to #DrinkforWA and #EatforWA by ordering from favorite local wineries and restaurants. This new amplified State Night will go statewide to bring all Washingtonians together in support of the #WAwine and #WAdine communities.

“Our local restaurants have been some of our greatest supporters,” shared Steve Warner, President of the Washington State Wine Commission. “Now more than ever, we need each other. People are looking to do something meaningful and be in community with one another. State Night is a perfect way to achieve this.”

To participate in State Night, Washingtonians need simply to (1) order takeout from a favorite local spot (2) grab your favorite bottle of #WAwine, and (3) spread the good word by sharing with friends and followers on social media.

As part of the big State Night celebration Dec. 4-6, Washington Wine has partnered with restaurants from both sides of the state – Seattle and Spokane. Surrell in Seattle and Wild Sage in Spokane will be selecting Washington wines from their cellars to pair with takeout meals. Washington Wine will be hosting a contest on our social media platforms to give away 20 takeout meals and 40 bottles of Washington wine to winners.

Also new to State Night is State Night Lite – a smaller, regionally-targeted contest that travels around the state, giving even more Washington wine fans a chance to win gift cards to local restaurants and wineries. Each week through the end of the year, Washington Wine will spotlight a different region on social media, including Walla Walla, Woodinville, Tri-Cities, Yakima, Vancouver, The Gorge, Lake Chelan and Leavenworth. Washington Wine is partnering with restaurants in each region, and each winner will receive a $50 gift card towards the identified restaurant and a $50 gift card to a local winery of their choice.

All official details and participation rules can be found on the Washington Wine Instagram and Facebook pages.
