Four Sonoma County Restaurants Named on OpenTable’s Top 100 List
SONOMA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, January 6, 2020 — OpenTable, the online reservation service, released its annual “Top 100 Restaurants in America” list which includes four from Sonoma County: two restaurants and two wineries.
The two restaurants breaking into the top 100 were Terrapin Creek, Bodega Bay; and Guiso Latin Fusion, Healdsburg. Culinary programs at Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate and Gardens, Fulton; and St. Francis Winery and Vineyards, Santa Rosa; earned the wineries mentions as well.
OpenTable’s accolade list is generated from diner reviews accumulated between Oct. 1, 2018, and Sept. 30, 2019.
Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens was included for its annual farm-to-table dinner series and top-notch wine and food pairing while St. Francis Winery and Vineyards in Santa Rosa was chosen for offering an unforgettable seasonal five-course dining experience highlighting the region’s agricultural and culinary traditions. Terrapin Creek located in Bodega Bay was recognized for serving distinctive modern American food with international nods and Guiso Latin Fusion in Healdsburg was credited for serving authentic Latin American and Caribbean dishes. All restaurants on the list prove the uniqueness and variety found in Sonoma County’s culinary scene.
Dungeness crab season begins
In other culinary delights – Dungeness crab season is underway. This succulent delicacy arrives at your table, fresh from the Pacific Ocean, via fishing fleets from Bodega Bay. While waiting for the boats to roll in, take a few minutes to enjoy watching whales migrate off the coast.
Fresh Dungeness crab is a Sonoma County point of pride. Prime season for this delicacy is in the winter months, when the cold waters flourish with the light reddish-brown crustaceans. Other than catching, cooking, and eating it yourself, you can’t get any fresher than buying it from a market that sources local catches.
Crabbing is the main fishing industry of Bodega Bay and is sold here only fresh, not frozen. Because of the great care taken to thoughtfully harvest this coveted crustacean, Seafood Watch has given the Dungeness crab a sustainable seafood rating of “Best Choice.”
Michelin stars shine in Sonoma County

SingleThread in Healdsburg has been awarded three Michelin stars for the 2019 guide. That makes it the first restaurant in Sonoma County to ever win this honor.
Farmhouse Inn and Madrona Manor have each been awarded one Michelin star. Both have earned the honor for more than a decade.
