World’s Best Wine Photographs Are Served!

June 3, 2026 — An atmospheric image, In the Depths of the Deposit, by Spanish photographer Juan Miguel Ortuño Martinez, is the Overall Winner of Louis Jadot Wine Photographer of the Year, a category of World Food Photography Awards sponsored by Bimi®, the world’s greatest celebration of food and drink photography.

“During the cleaning of the underground tanks, Pedro goes down and cleans the walls and floor of the remains of the previous wine with pressurised water,” says Martinez. “Once clean, his partner lowers a small bucket with a sponge inside to collect the remains that are left in the lower corner.”

Spanish photographer Juan Miguel Ortuño Martinez has been crowned Overall Winner of Louis Jadot Wine Photographer of the Year with a capture taken during the cleaning of an underground tank.

The Places sub-category was won by Australian photographer Chris Elfes for his stunning capture of a hidden vineyard, taken while Mount Pleasant Wines in Australia picked their Semillon grapes.

British photographer Luke Carver won the Produce sub-category with his monochromatic point-of-view shot from inside a traditional kvevri during the 2025 grape harvest in Georgia.

The winners of the competition’s 27 categories were revealed by renowned chef and food writer Gennaro Contaldo at the Mall Galleries, London, on Tuesday 2 June at an awards evening gathering stars of the food and arts worlds.
