September 15, 2025 (Ghemme – Novara, Italy) — The elegance of the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées will provide the setting for the eighth edition of Taste Alto Piemonte, the most important event dedicated to the wines of Upper Piedmont area, organized by the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte.

“An event of this importance represents a fundamental opportunity to promote our territory and the denominations of Upper Piedmont area, not only at the national level but also in neighboring countries such as Switzerland, strengthening ties and creating opportunities to showcase the protected denominations,” says Andrea Fontana, President of the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte. “I would also like to thank the institutions that have supported us since the very first edition and have once again embraced this initiative, showing genuine commitment to enhancing our wine and cultural heritage.”
“Bringing Taste Alto Piemonte to the shores of Lake Maggiore is an important signal: a territory engaging with an increasingly broad and international audience. This eighth edition will be an opportunity to showcase the different expressions of our denominations and the vitality of the winegrowing community of Upper Piedmont area. Taste Alto Piemonte is not just a tasting event, but an experience of discovery and encounter between producers, professionals, and enthusiasts,” says Lorella Zoppis, Vice President of the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte.
A unique opportunity to discover the oenological excellence of an extraordinary territory, nestled between the Alps and Lake Maggiore, where volcanic soils and a distinctive microclimate give rise to wines of remarkable elegance. The true protagonists will be the native grape varieties – first and foremost Nebbiolo, alongside Vespolina, Croatina, and Uva Rara—expressed through the 10 protected denominations: Boca DOC, Bramaterra DOC, Colline Novaresi DOC, Coste della Sesia DOC, Fara DOC, Gattinara DOCG, Ghemme DOCG, Lessona DOC, Sizzano DOC, and Valli Ossolane DOC.

For two days, more than 50 producers will present the new vintages of these 10 protected denominations – from Gattinara to Ghemme, from Lessona to Boca – through tasting tables and dedicated masterclasses organized by AIS Piemonte.
The program will kick off on Sunday, November 9, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the opening of the tasting tables. On Monday, November 10, the event will continue from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Both days will be open to the press, professionals, and wine enthusiasts. Alongside the tasting tables, four thematic masterclasses will provide the opportunity to explore the different denominations and the unique characteristics of Nebbiolo from Upper Piedmont area.
The event will also feature a temporary wine shop, where visitors can purchase the labels presented, as well as a dedicated press room for accredited journalists. There will also be spaces designed to highlight the producers and their stories, underscoring the deep bond that unites wine, territory, and community.
The event, a point of reference for the press, professionals, and enthusiasts, reaffirms the central role of Upper Piedmont area in the Italian wine scene, thanks to wines born from a unique territory between the Alps and Lake Maggiore, where Nebbiolo and native varieties embody elegance and authenticity.
