An Immersive Evening Pairing Global Wines, Iconic Hip-Hop Regions, and Local BBQ
NAPA, CA – March 27, 2025 – Wine and Hip Hop, in collaboration with Maryam + Company, announces Terroir Tapes: Listening Session, an event blending wine culture and hip-hop artistry. Hosted by Emmy-nominated sommelier Jermaine Stone and social impact entrepreneur Maryam Ahmed, the after-party follows Stone’s keynote at Napa Rise, a summit addressing climate action in sustainable winegrowing. The event will take place on May 6, 2025 (7–10 PM PST) at Stateline Road Smokehouse in Napa, CA, featuring BBQ by James Beard Award Nominee and Michelin-trained Chef Darryl Bell Jr.

A Sensory Journey Linking Wine, Music, and Community
Terroir Tapes reimagines “terroir”—the unique blend of soil, climate, and culture that shapes wine—as a bridge between global wine regions and hip-hop’s impactful sound. Guests will experience a guided tasting of wines from three regions, paired with hip-hop regions. The evening highlights how regional identity influences both wine and music, with surprise performances and curated tracks.
Chef Darryl Bell Jr., founder of Stateline Road Smokehouse, will craft dishes inspired by his “terroir”: Kansas City.
Be A Part of History
The event underscores themes of diversity and cultural dialogue. Maryam Ahmed, noted for her work in advancing equity in wine, states: “Wine and music are both storytelling mediums, deeply rooted in place and identity. This collaboration not only bridges the industries but also amplifies stories that showcase how regional expression—whether in the vineyard or on the mic—shape culture, creativity, and community. “This collaborative event marks Stone’s first in Napa and promises a unique blend of wine and hip-hop like never before.
