- The trade show will gather 1,266 exhibitors from 81 D.O. and quality seals from all over Spain

The leading trade show in quality Spanish wine is coming up on its fifth edition at the Montjuic venue from 3 – 5 February at Fira Barcelona, once again shattering all its records. For the first time it will be held in two halls to accommodate the 1,266 wineries from all over Spain. Large labels next to small producers are again entrusting BWW to be its best showcase for growing and diversifying their markets.
BWW is getting ready for its largest edition in its history, bringing together 1,266 exhibiting companies from 81 Designations of Origin and other quality seals. The show, which will be held in two halls for the first time so as to meet the high demand for participation, will occupy 38% more exhibition area, 10,000 m² in all, and over 33% more wineries attending the event.
Some of the confirmed exhibitors are big names such as Torres, Vallformosa, Lan, Matarromera, José Pariente, Marqués del Atrio and Raventós Codorníu, who will be joined for the first time by prestigious wineries and groups such as Grandes Pagos de España, Granja Ntra. Sra. de Remelluri, González Byass and Artadi.The show, set up in Halls 1 and 8 of the Montjuic venue, will also have hundreds of small and mid-sized wineries grouped in 81 D.O.s, including Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Priorat, Cava, Jumilla, La Mancha and Alicante. These will also be joined by over 900 projects and microwineries from all over the country.

To open up new business opportunities for exhibitors, BWW, in collaboration with ÍCEX, has strengthened its Hosted Buyers programme, with which it selects and invites major wine importers and distributors from all over the world. With this programme, the show guarantees the attendance of more than 770 key international buyers from strategic countries, including traditional European destinations such as the United States, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, China, Mexico, Japan, Brazil, Colombia and South Korea.
In addition, BWW will also be inviting some thousand domestic buyers which include large distributors, specialised merchants, and the HORECA channel, currently the main means of distribution for Spanish wine producers.
The grand Spanish wine tasting
Barcelona Wine Week 2025 has an exclusive programme of talks and tastings, whose main protagonists will be wines produced from heirloom rootstock. The featured participants include wine stewards such as Raúl Pérez (El Bierzo), considered by many to be the most influential oenologists in our country, or Fernando Mora (Bodegas Frontonio), Master of Wine and maker of some of the most acclaimed grenaches in the world. What’s more, there will be unheard-of tasting of wine from pre-phylloxera rootstock, veritable jewels from Lanzarote (Bodegas El Grifo), Pontevedra (Bodegas Gerardo Méndez) and Valladolid (Javier Sanz Viticultores). Some of the secrets of these heirloom vines will be revealed by renowned experts such as Doug Frost, Master of Wine and Master Sommelier, or Fernando Mayoral (Best Sommelier of Spain 2024).
On the other hand, the Wine Tasting Journey area of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will offer a self-guided tasting experience featuring over 80 wines made from heirloom rootstock from all over the country.
The activities programme will address other trends, such as the rise of white wines, with sommeliers such as Mª José Huertas (Paco Roncero) and Rodrigo Briseño (Disfrutar), and the unavoidable challenges ahead for the industry. Renowned wineries such as Abadía Retuerta, Matarromera, Raventós Codorníu and Perelada will tackle the very pressing issue of water use and drought response measures. Another pending subject, the visibility of women in the wine world, will focus on the tasting Her Signature Wines, featuring oenologists Mayte Calvo (Bodegas Bilbaínas), Laura Tragant (Codorníu) and Anne Cannan (Clos Figueres). In addition, BWW2025 will be awarding the first Isabel Mijares Awards, created by Women in Wine to acknowledge the best oenologist, sommelier, winemaker and winery director, among other categories.
There are some very unique sessions from among the wide variety of tastings on the schedule. On one hand, ‘The 10 magnificents from D.O. Rías Baixas. The sea of Atlantic wines’, where a tasting will consist of ten of the best wines from this Galician D.O., most of them whites, led by journalist and sommelier Ramon Francàs. On the other, there will be a commemoration of the centenary of D.O.Ca Rioja, with 8 wines from historic vineyards of La Rioja. It is an exclusive tasting led by Master of Wine Pedro Ballesteros.
In addition, for the first time, BWW will host the “Star” Awards for the best wine lists from Spanish bars and restaurants, held by the prestigious guide Star Wine List, plus the competition for the Best Sommelier of Catalonia. It will also be the setting for the first International Wine Tourism Forum, hosted by the Catalan Tourism Agency (ACT) and focused on world reference projects, such as Bordeaux, Porto, and China.
The previous BWW, held in February 2024, brought together 952 exhibiting wineries, 73 Designations of Origin and nearly 21,000 professional visitors, some20% from abroad. The show has the collaboration of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food (MAPA), the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) and the Spanish Conference of Winery Regulatory councils (CECRV) and the Interprofessional Wine Organisation of Spain (OIVE), and receives the support of Cajamar, the leading financial group for cooperative banking in Spain.
