November 20, 2024 — The Washington Wine Industry Foundation is proud to announce the grower and vintner at the heart of the forthcoming Collaboration Series 7. The Washington Wine Collaboration Series is a unique fundraising initiative highlighting the incredible fruit and talent in the Washington wine industry and directly benefitting the industry as a whole.
Each year, the Washington Wine Industry Foundation facilitates the next installation of the Washington Wine Collaboration Series, a series of limited-run wines featuring grapes from legacy vineyards and the winemaking of a vintner in the state’s wine industry. Both the grower and vintner donate all resources, and the packaging and bottling are donated by other generous industry partners to ensure that 100% of the proceeds from this wine go to supporting the work of the Foundation.
Collaboration Series 7 features grower Chip Dobson of Rosebud Vineyards and vintner Justin Wylie of Va Piano for this 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon from Wahluke Slope. Only 25 cases of this wine were produced, and pre-sale will open at the Foundation’s Party + Auction 2025 on February 11, 2025 in Kennewick.
The pairing was announced at the November Collaboration Series 6 Release Party + VIP Reception at the Marcus Whitman Hotel in Walla Walla celebrating the release of Series 6, a 2022 Champoux Vineyards + Andrew Will Winery Cabernet Sauvignon.
Purchasing a Collaboration Series wine doesn’t just ensure a taste of this extraordinary product of true collaboration and special Washington grapes, it also secures an invitation to the exclusive Collaboration Series Release Party + VIP Reception when Series 7 is ready in Fall of 2025, and it helps the Foundation continue its work to support sustainable solutions to our industry’s toughest challenges.
The Foundation facilitates nearly $50k in scholarships annually for students studying wine in the PNW, manages the Bill Powers Sabbatical to empower young professionals to seek professional development, secures and manages grant funding to produce valuable resources for the industry, and helps build a stronger Washington wine community through events like Party + Auction.
