Viñedos Orgánicos Veramonte Redesigns Labels to Reflect Living Soils Philosophy

The labels signify the all-encompassing organic culture of Veramonte Organic Wines

November 7, 2024 – Viñedos Orgánicos Veramonte, one of the top 100% organic and sustainable wineries in Chile, has redesigned their labels to reflect their organic and nature-inspired culture of the winery. Their Living Soils philosophy, of which the labels represent, embodies Veramonte’s belief that each living organism within the vineyard ecosystem plays a unique role in the viticulture and winemaking process.

For 30 years, Viñedos Orgánicos Veramonte has been a leader in Casablanca with their comprehensive sustainability certifications, which include organic, biodynamic, vegan, fair trade, and sustainability. In recent years, this has been even more of a focus with the winery’s parent company, González Byass, a producer and supplier of wine brands from several countries with organic, sustainable and biodynamic wines.

There are 500 hectares of native forest surrounding the Casablanca vineyards and the new labels showcase a variety of the indigenous species, both flora and fauna. By acknowledging each element of nature, the labels represent the vital elements to the region’s natural habitat.

“We aim to nourish our vines by respecting their origin, fostering their unique character through minimal intervention, and using native yeasts in winemaking,” says Winemaker and Managing Director Gonzalo Bertelsen. “These new labels showcase the epitome of what our winemaking team strives for. We truly believe organic farming principles and practices are at the essence of what makes the earth healthy and wine delicious. Our goals for biodiversity are reflected on our new labels and the quality wine we produce is helping to make Chile a leader in sustainability.”

In addition to the preservation of native species around the region, the winery recognizes the importance of varying elements within nature that creates Regenerative Agriculture. At Viñedos Orgánicos Veramonte, their journey with farm animals began in 2012 when they embraced organic management. Today, the sheep and alpacas play a crucial role for sustainable practices by fertilizing and de-compacting the soils during the winter and assisting with grass mowing in spring. The team at Veramonte feels passionate about the regeneration of the soils through organic and biodynamic management which balance the ecosystem. The healthy, living soils will nurture the vines and help create high-quality grapes that are true reflections of their region.

The new labels are currently in major markets and will be available throughout the U.S. in spring 2025. The wines include the Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon. These wines are widely available throughout the U.S. and are imported by González Byass USA.
