November 1, 2024 (Madrid, Spain) — The prestigious Golden Vines Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of wine,” have named Vega Sicilia the World’s Best Fine Wine Producer 2024 in their first edition in Spain.
The Golden Vines Awards®, organized by Liquid Icons since 2021, took place for the first time in Spain. The event featured a weekend program (25-27 October) for industry professionals with exceptional tastings, masterclasses, exquisite gastronomic experiences and live auctions in partnership with Sotheby’s to raise funds for the Gérard Basset Foundation. In addition, the leading representatives of the fine wine and spirits industry were honored at a spectacular ceremony held on 26 October at Madrid’s Palacio de Cibeles, with the presence of more than 1,200 wine industry professionals from over 100 countries: 68 Masters of Wine, 29 Master Sommeliers, over 160 Advanced Sommeliers, 301 graduates of the Diploma of Wine & Spirit Education Trust (DipWSET) and 48 ASI diploma holders, among others.
During the event, Vega Sicilia was lauded as the World’s Best Fine Wine Producer 2024. This award is a very important recognition for the entire Vega Sicilia team, consolidating the estate as a symbol of historical heritage, elegance, and winemaking excellence-qualities that are reflected in each of its wines.
