Albert Bichot and Hospices de Beaune Auction: A Historical Relationship

November 1, 2024 — Solidly rooted since 1876, when the burgundy house first acquired a piece, the link between both institutions endures and is further strengthened by the status of 1 buyer held by Albéric Bichot, owner and major patron of the Auction for over twenty-five years. As a testimony to tradition, the purchase of pieces is above all a commitment to the great cause represented by the Auction, whose profits are donated to charity organizations.

Each year, ahead to the Hospices de Beaune Auction, Albert Bichot lends its support to the institution by revealing an exceptional product created for the occasion. Following the launching in 2023 of a wooden Soundivine connected speaker bearing the house and Hospices coats of arms, this year’s partnership with Atelier du Vin has given rise to an exceptional sommelier knife.

This precious 100% handcrafted tool was made from the staves of a Mazis-Chambertin barrel, Cuvée Madeleine Collignon 2020 from the prestigious Domaine des Hospices de Beaune, aged in the Albert Bichot cellars.

2024: A Delicate Vintage with High Potential

The climate conditions did not make things easy for burgundy’s vines, which led to a less important harvest than in 2023. However, the first results are encouraging, with lovely grapes offering fresh aromas.
