October 16, 2024 – On October 15, Star Wine List of the Year celebrated the best wine lists in Ireland with an awards ceremony held in Waterford, during SommiT Ireland. The Grand Prix was won by Bar Pez in Dublin, with Gold Stars awarded to six other Irish restaurants and wine bars in the other categories.
Jury member Reeze Choi commented: “Ireland is not a wine-producing country and, because of this, there are no limits or boundaries for sommeliers or beverage managers designing their wine lists. For this reason, all of the lists show excellent diversity – even the small ones – in terms of origin, style, and producers. I have never been to Ireland, but some of these wine places made me really want to experience its wine culture across the country. Good work Ireland!”
Star Wine List of the Year is a celebration of the great wine lists of the world and the teams behind them. Prizes in Ireland were awarded in nine categories, with each category winner receiving a Gold Star. Many of these winners also qualified for the Star Wine List International Final, to be held in June 2025. The event was held in association with SommiT Ireland. Austrian Wine, Piper-Heidsieck, Château d’Esclans, Familia Torres and Louis M. Martini were category sponsors.

- Julie Dupouy-Young, several times named the Best Sommelier of Ireland
- Valeria Gamper, Best Sommelier of the Americas 2022 (ASI)
