October 14, 2024 – On October 13, Star Wine List of the Year celebrated the best wine lists in Norway with an awards ceremony held in Oslo, during Sommelier’s Day. The competition’s highest honour, the Grand Prix, was won by Park Hotel Vossevangen in Voss, along with three more Gold Stars. In the other categories, Gold Stars were awarded to eight other Norwegian restaurants and wine bars.
“Once you’ve developed a taste for excellence, why settle for less? This is the message conveyed by the places nominated here at Star Wine List of the Year Norway,” says jury member Nina Jensen. “What really sets these lists apart are the small, personal touches that give them an extra edge. Overall, it’s awesome to see so many precious, rare and fun collections on an absolutely world-class level divided across a country otherwise known more for its beautiful fjords, dramatic mountains and (for the lucky ones) Northern Lights!”
Star Wine List of the Year is a celebration of the great wine lists of the world and the teams behind them. Prizes in Norway were awarded in eleven categories, with each category winner receiving a Gold Star. Many of these winners also qualified for the Star Wine List International Final, to be held in June 2025. The event was held in association with the Norwegian Sommelier Association (Norsk Vinkelnerforening), with Riedel, Nyetimber and Austrian Wine as category sponsors.
