Enter your furry friends in their most adorable costume yet for a chance to win special doggy “barkuterie” boards, doggy treats and more.

Located just seven miles from the Pacific Ocean’s coastline, the pet-friendly Jasper House is Black Kite Cellars’ newly opened wine tasting room in Freestone, California, and is a welcome retreat for any traveler seeking an adventure off-the-beaten path, and perfect for those traveling between the inland Sonoma County areas to the dog friendly beaches along Bodega Bay. With the Pooches & Pinot Halloween day, wine tasting just got a lot spookier!

Black Kite Cellars is the only wine producer with a tasting room in the Freestone Historic District – a charming, blink-and-you-miss-it kind of hamlet. Black Kite Cellars’ Jasper House is designed to reflect the breezy, bohemian, laid-back vibe of the rugged yet inviting California coast.

WHAT: Guests and their dogs will enjoy a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting at Jasper House in the quaint town of Freestone. Costumes are encouraged for both pups and their humans:

  • Halloween Doggy Costume Contest: Dress to impress with the doggy Halloween costume contest. Judges will be looking for the most creative, fun, funny, inspiring, spooky, and imaginative Halloween costumes. 
  • People Treats: As harvest wraps up, enjoy a sampling of cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Signature tasting flights include Black Kite Cellars’ currently released wines from the Sonoma Coast and Anderson Valley appellations, along with selected library wines from the cellar.
  • Doggy Treats: “Barkuterie boards” with dog treats and ghoulish goodies for the furry companions will be available for purchase. Guests also have the opportunity to take ‘doggy and me’ photos in front of Black Kite Cellars’ artistic bodega signage, creative murals painted by renowned artist Michael Duté, capturing the perfect Instagrammable content. And of course, there will be plenty of water for the thirsty four-legged pals.
