October 2, 2024 – Messina Hof Winery announces new innovative label designs for its award-winning Tribute Series and Barrel & Dry Cuvee wines. The beloved varietals will boast a fresh, new look inspired by elements of Messina Hof history. The back labels will feature a new consumer-friendly look completed by a color crest system and tasting profile table including a scale rating the varietal’s body, sweetness, and acidity and information detailing the style and flavor.
As one of the brands most popular lines, the Tribute Series offers six wines made in a semi-sweet style. Each label now showcases a beautiful stained-glass motif in colorful jeweled tones to match the antique stained glass found at the Messina Hof Estate Winery in Bryan. This design element replicates unique pieces that were hand-selected and curated by the Bonarrigo Family founders through the decades. The artistic details in the new label designs reflect the passion and care that is poured into the winemaking process, with the goal to bring true enjoyment to everyone who is introduced to Messina Hof wines. The Tribute Series previously highlighted a specific tribute on each label and while the theme remains the hallmark of the collection, the design refresh compliments each varietal more intentionally to highlight the importance to Messina Hof’s history and values.
The Tribute Series wines include the Gewurztraminer (Tribute to Memories), Riesling (Tribute to Heritage), Moscato (Tribute to Innocence), Mama Rosa Rose (Tribute to Motherhood, in honor of the original Bonarrigo matriarch), Beau (Tribute to Beauty), and Sangria (Tribute to Celebration).
The Barrel and Dry Cuvee wines are the cornerstone of Messina Hof’s wine portfolio in the wholesale marketplace and crafted from classic varietals in a more traditional style. The Barrel Cuvee collection features robust, dry red wines, while the Dry Cuvee collection features crisp, dry white wines. The redesigned labels display the historic wooden doors of Messina Hof’s Villa Bed & Breakfast in Bryan, which was built on the exact spot where the original Messina Hof winery building was founded in 1977. The detailed carvings and intricate design of the doors are an invitation to the brand’s home, the winery, and the hospitable nature of the Messina Hof family. Each varietal at Messina Hof is a testament to the honored winemaking tradition and dedication to showcasing the finest Texas grapes through exceptional Texas wines.
The Barrel Cuvee wines include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Black Label Blend. The Dry Cuvee wines include Pinot Grigio and Unoaked Chardonnay.
