Vinton Family Will Continue the Legacy of Robust Programming and Enhance Winemaking Capability & Portfolio
Chadds Ford, PA (September 30, 2024) – After a highly strategic and thoughtful process, Chaddsford Winery (Chaddsford) is thrilled to announce its recent sale, to the Vinton family, owners of the New Jersey-based White Horse Winery. The Vinton family is the perfect fit with their deep ties to the Brandywine community and a commitment to elevating Mid-Atlantic wines. As such, Chaddsford’s four decades-long legacy will continue while benefiting from the innovation, passion for winemaking, and established reputation the Vinton family and White Horse Winery bring. Chaddsford and White Horse Winery will continue operating as separate entities while benefiting from complementary strengths and expertise.
White Horse Winery’s commitment to producing award-winning, estate-grown wine is evidenced by winning a coveted New Jersey Governor’s Cup four times in the last six years. Chaddsford’s and White Horse’s winemaking teams will collaborate to maximize the quality and scalability of both portfolios. Planning is underway for substantial short and long-term improvements to the Chadds Ford, PA property as well as other key aspects of the business, such as an expanded Chaddsford Winery presence at this year’s holiday-themed Wintergarden at Philadelphia City Hall’s Dilworth Plaza.
Chaddsford continues to operate successfully in both wholesale and brick-and-mortar retail settings, with no intention of slowing down. Its wildly popular Adult Trick-or-Treat program, a month-long ticketed event (held every Saturday and Sunday from October 5 through November) features five Halloween-themed pairing stations, is headed towards another sell-out year, and pacing 40% ahead of last year’s ticket sales. Under new ownership, the winery will remain open for business seven days a week for bottle sales, walk-ins, and table service reservations for guided wine flights.
“When we began this process, our goal was to find a new owner who was the best fit for our beloved Winery. We’re confident that the Vinton’s and White Horse Winery are a perfect match. Both organizations are incredibly complementary in their strengths, strategies, and personnel. Our team feels fully rejuvenated and excited for the future,” says Corey Krejcik, General Manager of Chaddsford Winery.
“The potential synergies between White Horse and Chaddsford were impossible to ignore. Both brands do so many things right and we felt this was an incredible opportunity to leverage those combined successes to create something truly special. White Horse’s commitment to estate-grown, nationally recognized wines will also help Chaddsford further elevate its premium dry wine portfolio – something both organizations are very excited to see,” says BJ Vinton, White Horse Winery Proprietor.
