Franciacorta Brings Italian Elegance to the 76th Emmy® Awards: Wine, Celebrities, and Fine Cuisine

Los Angeles, September 18, 2024 – Once again, Franciacorta shines under the international spotlight, marking its fourth consecutive year as the Official Sparkling Wine of the Emmy® Awards, one of the most prestigious events in the global television and film industry. With its unmistakable style, Franciacorta enhanced the experience of the winners and attending celebrities, adding a touch of Italian excellence to the awards ceremony held on Sunday, September 15, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The event was broadcast live on ABC and other international networks, including Sky in Italy.

The winners toasted with Franciacorta at the Governors Gala, the exclusive after-party dedicated to the awardees and a star-studded guest list of international television industry figures. Among the guests were: Meryl Streep, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Colin Farrel, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Joshua Jackson, Matt Bomer, Robert Downey Jr, Naomi Watts and Sofia Vergara.

This year, Franciacorta wasn’t just in the spotlight for its wines but also introduced two important highlights that emphasized the bond between Italian art, culture, and gastronomy. The first was the presence of Miriam Leone, renowned Italian actress and ambassador of “Made in Italy,” who attended the Awards and main events as a special guest of Franciacorta. Her participation underscored the importance of promoting Italian excellence on international stages, celebrating both the wine and film industries.

Adding to the celebration of Italy, for the first time in Emmy history, an Italian chef prepared the gala dinner. Augusto Pasini, chef of Hill Colle restaurant in Erbusco, delighted guests with an exclusive creation: Gnocchi “a la plancha”, Franciacorta sauce and black truffle, a dish that pays homage to the region through authentic flavors. Alongside Pasini, three celebrity American chefs — Jet Tila, Michael Voltaggio, and Brooke Williamson — prepared dishes paired with various types of Franciacorta at the gala dinner.

Franciacorta’s celebrations kicked off on September 12 with a private dinner at Angelini Osteria in Beverly Hills. There, a select audience had the opportunity to preview the dish created by Chef Pasini for the Governors Gala. Guests included Miriam Leone, Elisabetta Canalis, Victor Turpin, Craig Parker, Marta Pozzan, Will Burke, Natalia Bonifacci, and Raffaella Valentini, Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles.

The Franciacorta Bar also graced several official events leading up to the Emmy Awards, such as the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which honor behind-the-scenes talents (set designers, costume designers, editors, animators, and special effects artists), and the Performer Nominees Celebration, dedicated to the nominated actors and the casts of the nominated TV series.

“We are proud to have represented Italy once again at the Emmy Awards,” said Silvano Brescianini, President of the Franciacorta Consortium. “This year, with the presence of Miriam Leone and the participation of Augusto Pasini, we celebrated Italian excellence in all its forms: from wine to food, to cinema and television.”

Franciacorta reaffirmed its role as an ambassador of Italian style and taste worldwide, blending tradition and innovation in an exclusive international setting like the Emmy Awards.
