Harvest STOMP Raises $2.8 million to Support Napa Valley Agriculture, Farmworker Education, and Community

NAPA, CA (August 27, 2024) – The Napa Valley Grapegrowers (NVG) and Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation (FWF), supported by generous bidders, donors, sponsors, volunteers and committee members, raised $2.8 million at the 17th annual Harvest STOMP fundraiser on Saturday, August 24, at Ron and Linda DeKoven’s Viña Esperanza in Calistoga. 2024 Harvest STOMP Co-Chairs Karen Cakebread, Mary Maher, and Francoise Peschon welcomed over 500 guests to kick off the 2024 harvest and celebrate the important work these two organizations do to strengthen the grape growing industry and community.

“We are thrilled with the results from this year’s STOMP,” stated 2024 Co-Chair Mary Maher. “Every bit of support counts, as all funds raised equally support NVG’s educational programs focused on increasing quality, innovation, and environmental stewardship in the vineyard, and FWF’s mission to provide education and career advancement opportunities to farmworkers and their families.”

The evening began with Harvest STOMP reception where family-run Calistoga wineries poured their wines alongside small bites from local restaurants and supporters, including Hog Island Oyster Co., Local Q 707, Lovina, Sam’s Social Club and John Anthony Vineyards. As a stunning sunset developed, the Tre Posti culinary team served dinner as the Live Auction began, featuring eight premium wine and wine-focused adventure, travel and experiential lots, including a surprise lot featuring a dinner experience offered by Silver Oak and Ovid. Napa Valley. The highlight of the auction was the fund-a-need, which raised critical funds to support the missions of both organizations. The generosity from supporters shined bright as paddles were raised high under the auction lights. The evening culminated with dessert from Kara’s Cupcakes and John Anthony Vineyards, followed by the Napa Valley’s best dance party where guests danced under the stars to the retro sounds of the Bay area’s ultimate yacht-rock band Mustache Harbor.

“We are so grateful for the support of our grape-growing community and friends from all over the Napa Valley,” said Sonya DeLuca, Executive Director of the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation, “STOMP gives us the opportunity to support the missions of both the Napa Valley Grapegrowers and Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation, whose combined work is critical to the vibrancy of the Napa Valley.”

The 18th annual Harvest STOMP will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, hosted by co-chairs Kendall Hoxsey-Onysko and Morgaen Hoxsey Pickett of Napa Wine Co., and will celebrate the Napa Valley Grapegrowers 50th Anniversary.
