Interactive Tasting Experiences Offered in Celebration of California Wine Month in September
August 27, 2024 – Paso Robles, CA – Become a winemaker for a day as Hope Family Wines celebrates California Wine Month with interactive hands-on tasting experiences at its two Paso Robles locations—the new Hope on Park tasting room in downtown Paso Robles and the Austin Hope & Treana Tasting Cellar in the Templeton Gap District.
Both experiences feature wine grapes straight from the vineyard, allowing patrons to learn critical skills for assessing fruit ripeness during the harvest season. The fun concludes with tasting flights from Hope Family Wines.
“What better way to celebrate California Wine Month and the local grape harvest than to get our patrons involved in the process?” said Director of Hospitality Jo Armstrong. “These are one-of-a-kind tasting experiences that draw you into the excitement of the season.”
Armstrong worked with Owner-Winemaker Austin Hope and Director of Vineyards Stasi Seay to dream up the experiences, which are distinct to each location. These offerings may be reserved throughout the month of September at HopeFamilyWines.com, or by contacting cheers@hfwines.com and 805-238-4112 (Austin Hope & Treana Tasting Cellar) and dreamweaver@hfwines.com and 805-591-0744 (Hope on Park).

Come learn the winemaker’s art of deciding when to harvest! This experience begins as you taste a range of wine grapes straight from the field. Through guided “berry sensory analysis,” you will assess the fruit for a variety of ripeness factors including pulp, seeds and skins. You will also learn how to take “brix” measurements to determine grape sugar content.
This fun and illuminating sensory experience is capped off with a curated tasting flight of Austin Hope wines. It all takes place at the stunning Hope on Park tasting room, the new place to be in downtown Paso Robles.
Austin Hope & Treana Tasting Cellar | “Brix Testing” + Wine Flight ($25)
It’s harvest season—but when is it time to pick? A lot of it depends on “Brix”—the measurement of fruit sugar ripeness. In this exclusive tasting, you will learn how to measure Brix yourself. You will be provided with fresh Cabernet Sauvignon grape juice straight from the field as well as a hydrometer to take your measurements.
This insightful hands-on experience is capped off with a curated tasting flight of Austin Hope wines. It all takes place at the Austin Hope & Treana Tasting Cellar, the estate that started it all for Hope Family Wines.
