University City Wine Fest Returns for Eighth Annual Celebration

Charlotte is Invited to Toast and Taste with Local Wineries, Bars, Breweries, and Cideries with University City Partners

(August 21, 2024) – University City Partners, the nonprofit organization bringing community-building events to the north Charlotte community, is excited to share the delectable details ahead of the eighth annual University City Wine Fest. Taking place on Saturday, September 21 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Shoppes at University Place, this year’s gathering promises an afternoon filled with craft tastings, live music, local food and more. Showcasing over 100 wines from more than 25 wineries and vendors, along with a crisp selection of craft beers, ciders, and for the first year ever, cocktails. Attendees will explore and learn about a variety of blends, brewing and winemaking process all while enjoying the scenic University City boardwalk. 

“For the past eight years, our festival has evolved into a cherished community tradition, toasting to the remarkable growth of the University City’s food and beverage scene,” said Keith Stanley, CEO and President of University City Partners. “In a city like Charlotte, where breweries and new bars are popping up daily, it’s an honor to play a role in introducing guests to local vendors they might not otherwise discover, while also educating them about our region’s unique drink landscape.”  

In addition to exclusive tastings, the festival will feature live music from The Abraham Staten Experience, pop-up shops from local makers and bites from a variety of Charlotte-based eateries to accompany the event’s wide array of drink offerings. A portion of this year’s proceeds will benefit University City Foundation, the funding and fundraising tool to advance community development, community building and placemaking programs and projects in the University City market area.

Tickets for the event are available now and there are three ticket types:

  • General Admission ($35): Four hours of boundless wine, craft brew, and cocktail tastings and a festival souvenir sampling glass

  • Early Admission ($45): Five hours of boundless wine, craft brew, and cocktail tastings and a festival souvenir sampling glass

  • VIP Admission ($55): Early entrance, ten tickets for a special VIP experience with a reserved covered VIP table & chairs, four bottles of wine, unlimited tastings and souvenir glass 

Tickets are available day of but are not guaranteed. All attendees must be 21+ and present a valid government-issued ID for entry and those under 21+ must be accompanied by an adult.
