August 20, 2024 – Third in a 3-part series of classes on Wine Style, Mary Beth Vierra of Crush Course extends the fundamentals of class 1 to delve into the diverse world of red wines. Class 3 reveals how the grape, region, ripeness, or winemaker’s touch drives the style of red wines.
Mary Beth is your guide as you taste and explore a selection of 6-8 distinctive wines. During the class you’ll discover some unique red varieties, delve into winemaker techniques, like fermentation choices or vessel type and how they significantly shape the wine, and explore regional matchups to understand the power of terroir. The class is well-suited for wine industry and restaurant teams to deepen and broaden their understanding, fluency and appreciation for classic red wines of the world and their local iterations in the North Coast.
