BENOM Acquires 60-Acre York Mountain Estate, Winery and Tasting Room Coming Soon

August 13, 2024 – Arnaud and Guillaume Fabre, sixth-generation French winemakers and founders of BENOM, proudly announce the acquisition of their estate eight years after their first vintage release in 2015. The estate’s land, until now, has never been planted with vineyards. Over the next decade years, BENOM plans to transform the estate with a vineyard, winery, and tasting room.

With 25 plantable acres, the Fabre brothers have recently planted 20 acres with rootstock in the summer of 2024. The property has limestone and clay soil, which is ideal terroir for Bordeaux and Rhône varietals. The brothers aim to continue their current unique red and white blends and later expand their offerings. They plan to graft the rootstock with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc in a year.

Arnaud and Guillaume Fabre

BENOM was born as a way to showcase their love for winemaking and to pay homage to their Bordeaux and Languedoc-Roussillon heritage. With Guillaume as the skilled vigneron and Arnaud expertly leading the winery’s operation, this duo is eager to grow the BENOM brand with its new estate.

About BENOM Wines

BENOM Wines is a Paso Robles winery and tasting room owned by Arnaud and Guillaume Fabre specializing in French and Spanish blends. The Fabre brothers were born into six generations of French winemakers in the Languedoc-Roussillon and Bordeaux regions of France. At the age of 23, Guillaume made the move to Paso Robles to work as Assistant Winemaker at L’Aventure with Stephan Asseo. He later opened Clos Solène with his wife, Solène, in 2007. Arnaud moved to Paso Robles after meeting his wife Chloe Asseo, the daughter of Stephan of L’Aventure. He spent five years at Law Estate specializing in marketing and operations. In 2015, the brothers started BENOM, a project to showcase their roots with Bordeaux, Rhône, and Spanish blends. BENOM is the phonetic spelling of the French word “binôme,” which translates to “a duo” or “a project together.” BENOM currently has a tasting room in Tin City and is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment only.
