The Grand Valley Is Named One of the 10 Best Wine Regions in the US

PALISADE, COLO – (August 1, 2024) —The Colorado Association for Viticulture & Enology (CAVE), is excited to announce that USA Today 10Best has named the Grand Valley as one of the Top 10 Best Wine Regions in the US!
USA Today 10Best is a travel and lifestyle website that provides advice from experts around the world. The Grand Valley was nominated as part of their Reader’s Choice Awards, where USA Today 10Best’s travel experts will select their top 20 nominees in categories ranging from food & lodging to destinations and things to do. The public is then invited to vote and select the winners in each category.

The Grand Valley is home to over 35 wineries and over two-thirds of Colorado’s vineyards. It is a recognized American Viticulture Area (AVA) and has become known as Colorado’s Wine Country. In 2018, the Grand Valley was named one of the Top 10 Wine Getaways by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

“We are thrilled that the Grand Valley has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Wine Regions by USA Today 10Best!” said Cassidee Shull, the Executive Director of the Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology. “The Grand Valley is truly a unique area unlike any other in the United States. Our winemakers here take risks and try new things, resulting in wines that capture the essence of our region and reflect Colorado’s adventurous spirit. For folks who are interested in visiting the Grand Valley and sampling Colorado wine, we invite them to attend this year’s Colorado Mountain Winefest presented by Fisher’s Liquor Barn on September 21st!”

Colorado Mountain Winefest is the state’s largest wine festival and is held annually during the third weekend of September in Palisade, Colorado. The festival exclusively features Colorado wines and is a premier event in the Grand Valley. In 2017, Colorado Mountain Winefest was voted Best Wine Festival in the Nation by USA Today 10Best. This year’s festival takes place on Saturday, September 21st in Palisade’s Riverbend Park. Tickets are available online and can be purchased at www.ColoradoWinefest.com.

Festival attendees and wine enthusiasts are also invited to participate in Colorado Wine Week, which features numerous wine-themed events taking place across the state. This year’s Colorado Wine Week takes place September 16th – 22nd and features events such as Food & Wine Pairings, Winemaker Dinners, Wine Tours, Outdoor Concerts, and more! This year also marks the return of a fan-favorite event, Wine & Glass Experience presented by Riedel.
