Community Comes Together Through Music and Generosity, Benefiting GIFFORDS
(June 28, 2024; Healdsburg, CA) – On June 7th and 8th, the Healdsburg community pulsed with a vibrant tapestry of live music and an unwavering dedication to a powerful cause, as The BloodRoot Ramble concluded its second year with a resounding success of raising over $200,000 for gun violence prevention efforts. Founded by Kelly and Noah Dorrance, owners of BloodRoot Wines and Reeve Wines, The Ramble is a home-grown music festival driven by a personal commitment to honor the memory of their beloved niece, Evelyn Dieckhaus, who tragically lost her life in the Nashville Covenant School shooting at the age of nine. Bringing together music lovers, advocates, and local businesses, guests enjoyed spellbinding performances from Lord Huron, Andrew Bird, Cautious Clay, The Nude Party, and Spike Sikes with 100% of proceeds benefiting GIFFORDS Organization.
The festival’s impact expanded even further through the second annual Wine Country Unites, a collaborative movement bringing together a collection of esteemed wineries, retailers, distributors, and restaurants committed to ending gun violence. Held on June 7th, National Gun Violence Awareness Day, participating wineries donated $10 from each bottle of wine sold, while other businesses developed their own unique fundraising efforts to maximize impact and support GIFFORDS. Together, these two initiatives serve as a powerful centerpiece for the collective effort to advocate for safer communities and common sense gun laws.
Prior to Lord Huron taking the stage as headliner, Katy Dieckhaus, Evelyn’s mother, delivered a poignant message that reminded attendees of the mission behind the event. “We lost Evelyn forever, but now we are in this tireless commitment to turn this tragedy into meaning and to make a difference. Gun violence is solvable, and together we can change the world.”
