June 27th – Star Wine List, the award-winning guide to great wine bars and wine restaurants, has launched the wine lover’s guide to Bilbao and the surrounding area. Star Wine List’s Basque country ambassador, Aitor Maiztegui, has curated a selection of 12 of the region’s best wine restaurants and wine bars.
“I am very happy to represent Star Wine List as ambassador in the Basque Country. It is one of the most important regions in the world in terms of gastronomy, a reference for all lovers of good food and drink,” said Aitor Maiztegui, head sommelier at the three-Michelin starred Azurmendi restaurant in Bilbao.
“We have a great diversity of wines and some of the best restaurants in the world, where the common ground is the quality of the product and the good work being done. Also, it is one of the most important wine regions with unique indigenous varieties,” he added.
