June 25, 2024 – On the 24th of June, Star Wine List rewarded the best wine lists in the World at an event in Stockholm. Bangkok restaurant Haoma won the top award and category golds also went to New York, Germany, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
“Having followed the Star Wine List journey around the world for several years, it is incredible and heartwarming to see how the quality and diversity level of the lists globally keeps increasing and becoming even more exciting and thus delightful for the guests. Naturally, this makes it harder and harder to choose the best amongst the very good, and I am certain that we will see many movements amongst the top ranks in the future, as it often was a very close call between several outstanding contestants. A heartfelt congratulations to all of those amazing somm teams around the world that have entered this global tour!” said Jury member Marc Almert, Best sommelier of the World 2019.
Star Wine List of the Year is the celebration of the great wine lists in the world and the teams behind them. On the recent tour, fourteen different regions have been covered, and one open award for countries outside these regions. The winners from all these events joined the finals, live in Stockholm or online.
“Last year we had finalists from eight countries joining us in person for the awards, this year sommeliers from 19 countries travelled to be part of the celebration. Cheers to all the amazing entries during the year and congratulations to the worthy winners!” said Krister Bengtsson, founder and publisher of Star Wine List.
